Exodus is a multi-crypto wallet with features. Users can access private keys anytime to transfer their into and take full advantage of its hybrid capabilities.

Retrieve your recovery phrase from the Exodus Wallet in just a few easy steps, whether you're using the desktop or version.


Desktop Version

  1. Click on the Wallet icon (Step 1.) located in the top navigation bar.

  2. Scroll through or use the search bar to locate the asset you want to manage.

  1. Click on the More icon (three dots) (Step 2.) in the top right corner of the asset page.

  2. Select View Private Keys (Step 3.) from the dropdown menu.

  3. After clicking View Private Keys, a warning popup will appear.

  4. Read the message carefully to ensure you are in a private and secure location.

  5. Click the Yes, I’m Sure (Step 4.) button to proceed.

  1. Enter your wallet password in the provided text field to unlock your wallet.

  2. Click the Unlock Now button to proceed and view your private keys.

  3. Resize the window by hovering your mouse over the edge until the double arrow appears, then drag it wider to reveal the full private key.

  1. Use your mouse to double-click or highlight the private key (Step 5.).

  2. Copy the private key to your clipboard by right-clicking and selecting Copy or using the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+C or Command+C, depending on your system).


Web 3 Version

  1. Click on the Profile icon (Step 1.) located in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

  2. In the profile menu, click on Security (Step 2.).

  1. Select Back Up (Step 3.).

  1. Accept the risks (Step 4.) of sharing your secret phrase.

  1. Enter your password in the provided field (Step 5.).

  2. Click the Next button to proceed (Step 6.).

  1. Check the reveal secret recovery phrase (Step 7.).

  2. Hit the button Next (Step 8.).

  1. Copy or write down your secret phrase and click the button Next (Step 9.).

  1. Select the Key icon located in the top right corner (Step 10.).

  1. Pick from the list of blockchain networks (Step 11.).

  1. Hit the View Key button (Step 12.).

  1. Click on the private key field to expand it.

  2. The private key will now be fully visible for you to view or copy (Step 13.).

  1. Once done, click the Done button to exit (Step 14.).


If you're using the mobile version of Exodus,

please switch to the desktop version to retrieve your private key. The mobile app does not support direct viewing of private keys. To access your private key, sync your mobile wallet with the desktop app and follow the instructions provided for the desktop version.

Remember to keep your private keys secure to safeguard access to your funds.
